Bought this through the kickstarter campaign and have to say I’m delighted with the fit. I want to add another asap. The only issue I had was the fabric was grabby on my tights and picked up fuzz from my coat. The latter was easily fixed once I arrived at the office, the former not a problem because I didn’t have any meetings. In the future, however, I will need to add a slip if the weather dictates warmer leg-wear.

Those things being said, I LOVE it. I was so worried it wouldn’t fit my cyclist bootie properly, but it does. It’s almost as if you used real women to do the sizing. But, seriously, who does THAT? ;)

Looking forward to owning more IvaJean apparel as I save up. Thanks for a quality product.

LOVE this skirt! It fits like a glove, has the perfect amount of stretch and is just the right length! It’s classy and comfortable. It will be the perfect travel skirt, since it’s light weight, wrinkle-free and can be dressed up or down. I typically wear a size 6-8 but ordered the small based on the measurements on your site. Fits great!

As soon as I touched it, I knew this skirt could be tough enough to survive one of my typical days. It fit perfectly due to the slight stretch. And I can finally wear a pencil skirt any day I want instead of the rare day, I’m not biking or walking really fast. Zipping up is a little awkward but you do that when you’re leaving. Upon arrival at your destination the zip down to the formal look is quick and easy. I love the length too…very professional. I’m wishing you offered navy blue and brown.

FANTASTIC!. Ordered a 0 based on size guide and it fits perfect. Perfect balance of SF style and quality. Any chance you will offer gray or brown in future?

I love this skirt’s clever design, but have one complaint and one request.
    - The fabric on the inside of the waistband does not lay flat. At this price point, there shouldn’t be that type of annoyance, and it should be an easy fix
    - While the sizing works for the desired fit (high hip), I prefer a pencil skirt to fit at true waist - i.e. cut a few inches smaller in the waist, and an inch or two longer to compensate.
I second the request for more colors - navy, grey, brown, maybe dark red - and would also like to see the higher cut waist as an option

This is the best skirt I have ever owned. My husband bought it for me for our “cotton” anniversary and I am in love. First of all, I was encouraged by other reviews about the fit and he ordered a 4 (I tend to be a 4 petite in jeans only if they are a curvy cut, otherwise it’s all over the board). The skirt fits great and I can tell it is cut so that it would flatter every body type. There is just enough stretch to the skirt and the material is soft — it is so comfortable that it does not really even feel like I’m dressed so professionally — nothing ‘stiff’ about it. The curved line at the top is elegant and flattering, and after accidentally spilling a bit of water on myself in a clumsy moment, I can report that the material is just water resistant enough.

The zipper at the back is discreet and when unzipped and riding it just feels…perfect.
Yesterday I commuted in pretty windy conditions and my skirt did not once get lifted by the wind — no wardrobe malfunction at all! :) I can’t emphasize how awesome it made me feel — I trusted my skirt would look great and stay in place, and so I rode around town with a boost of confidence not to mention the ability to focus even more on traffic.

I’ve already received compliments from folks who don’t know about my skirts hidden bicycle talents, who just think it’s a beautiful pencil skirt.
Have I mentioned how much I love this skirt? I used to take the bus or drive on days when I had important meetings or events at work. No more! Now I can do it all, and I have a feeling my other pencil skirts are going to start gathering dust in my closet.

I would love to see a larger line of work-commuting-elegant-functional clothing made by Iva Jean (and add my voice to the request for more colors! Grey or green or teal would all be awesome possibilities). I’m so, so, glad I own this skirt. If I ever paired my wardrobe down to a minimalist selection — this would be my only skirt, that’s how much I love it.

The Reveal skirt is almost perfect, but I returned it because the fit and color are a bit off for my preference.

FIT: Size 0′s 25.375″ fits comfortably at my 26″ natural waist without pinching or rolling. Unfortunately, size 0′s 37.5″ hips on my 36.5″ hips causes the skirt to be roomier than what flatters my butt and thighs. I was surprised that an extra inch at the hips matters, but I look frumpy instead of tailored. Comparing the Reveal skirt to my other straight skirts, the hem circumference difference is 2″-3″. If I kept this skirt, I would slim it from the hips down and possibly try to incorporate the trimmed pieces into the panels hidden by the back zipper.

COLOR: The black is a soft black that looks faded against my black clothing, all of which are richer, deeper blacks. The soft black doesn’t look cohesive with my black tights or leggings. Also, the fabric readily attracts lint and other fuzz. If the Reveal skirt came in bright red, deep red, bright blue, or white, then I would buy it in those colors and alter the fit.

DESIGN & WORKMANSHIP: The panels hidden by the back zipper consist of two right triangles overlaid on an isosceles triangle. Unlike pleats ironed-in one piece of fabric, the three panels are separate pieces sewn together so they shouldn’t lose their shape through wash and wear. The panels are inconspicuously flat when the zipper is down and fan out beautifully when the zipper is up. The hidden pocket at the waist has the dimensions of a standard credit card/ID. All of the seams look properly finished.

ZIPPERS: The back zipper easily glides smoothly up and down. The side zipper has more friction and requires more effort to zip, probably because of the garment’s curve.

This skirt is absolutely amazing. It’s comfortable off the bike and on the bike, it repels rain really well, and the fabric feels great against the skin. It’s also very stretchy which makes walking around in a pencil skirt much better. It’s the best piece of bike clothing I’ve ever owned.

The only reason I give it four stars is because of the pocket in the front. It causes the seam to not sit flat against my skin. I would rather have a flat seam than a pocket in my pencil skirt.

Thanks for making a great product!
